Truck Campaign Kicks Off

During December 2013 to February 2014; crash statistics indicated that 84 out of 280 involved trucks. It is against this background that the MVA Fund in collaboration with Walvis Bay

Corridor Group, Roads Authority, NAMPOL and the National Road Safety Council, initiated a Truck Intervention which kicked off on Tuesday, 20 January 2015.

The campaign aims at calming traffic as more trucks are expected on the road due to the resumption of duty of many companies requiring trucking services.

The intervention further focuses on driver fitness and wellness, vehicle fitness, as well as compliance to regulations related to trucks and cargo.
