21 Lives Lost During Easter
The Traffic Law Enforcement Division of Nampol, MVA Fund, National Road Safety Council, City of Windhoek, Roads Authority and Private Road Safety Forum worked
closely together during the Easter Weekend and used all available resources to enhance Road Safety on our National Roads countrywide.
A total of 21 fatalities were recorded during the 2015 Easter Holiday. Otjozondjupa Region recorded the highest number of road crashes during the long weekend. The region hosts one of the busiest highway routes in the country, serving as a connection to the west and northern regions giving rise to high volume of traffic throughout the year, thus prone to crash incidents, particularly the main road between Otjiwarongo and Okahandja. The region is rated among the top 6 crash zone hotspots in the country.
