Overloading: A danger to all road users

Overloading of both passengers and goods vehicles has been identified as one of the major contributing factors of road accidents. Overloading does not only pose a danger to the lives of road users , it also ahs the potential to damage the much needed and costly road infrastructure.

Overloading also takes place in the goods transportation industry where heavy vehicles / trucks loaded with goods are often loaded exceeding their weighting capacities. This results in damage to the road surface as well as posing a danger to road users because the drivers may find it difficult to control the overloaded heavy vehicles.

Throughout the Xupifa eemwenyo campaign , the law enforcement agencies will put measures in place to address all the causes of accidents , including overloading . All efforts are being made to ensure that road users are discouraged from overloading their vehicles both passengers and goods.
