MVA FUND URGES POSITIVEROAD SAFETY CULTURE AMIDST COVID

The MVA Fund expresses concern over the recent collisions, pedestrian-related and roll-over crashes accounting for 50% of pedestrian deaths on Namibian roads, more especially from 19 -26 July 2020despite a significant decline in the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities experienced during the first half of the year (01 January –July 2020)as compared to the same period during the last two years(2018 and 2019).

  YOUTH ROAD SAFETY INDUCTION

The MVA Fund of Namibia hosted a Youth Road Safety Induction on 31 July 2020 with representatives from Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), University of Namibia (UNAM), Monitronics Success College and African Youth and Adolescents Network (AfriYAN). The Induction is part of recommendations from the Youth Road Safety Webinar that took place mid-June 2020 in Windhoek.

 FUND RE-OPENS KATUTURA SATELLITE OFFICE

The MVA Fund will reopen its Katutura Satellite Office on Monday, 03 August 2020 after a five (5) month closure as a safety measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 during the first-wave outbreak. The Katutura Satellite Office initially opened its doors to the public on 15 November 2019 and was established in line with the Fund’s objectives to increase customer awareness of its benefits and products, as well as make services easily accessible to the communities of Katutura and Khomasdal.
