The MVA Fund, in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Namibian Police, Trans Kalahari Corridor Group, Windhoek City Police, and Roads Authority, attended the Road Incident Management Systems (RIMS) National Technical Committee Meeting held from 4–7 November 2024 in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa.
The meeting brought together representatives from Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, including South Africa (the host), Swaziland, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.
Discussions focused on enhancing incident management through detailed, pre-planned, and coordinated responses to road incidents. The aim was to explore strategies to restore normal road capacity and safety levels efficiently by leveraging human, mechanical, and electronic resources in a synchronized manner.
By participating in this critical forum, the Fund and its partners contributed to the exchange of knowledge, sharing of best practices, and strengthening of regional cooperation to improve road safety and efficiency across SADC countries.
