The MVA Fund has intensified its road safety efforts through its quarterly Defensive Driving programme at the Tony Rust Racetrack. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen driver competence and build a long-term road safety culture in Namibia. A public simulation and live demonstration took place on Friday, 13 February 2026, showcasing practical defensive driving techniques and key learning outcomes.
The programme addresses ongoing challenges such as speeding, distracted driving, fatigue, substance use, and poor vehicle control, particularly under low-visibility and adverse weather conditions. Currently prioritising institutions, fleet operators, government agencies, and essential service teams, the MVA Fund aims to create a multiplier effect by empowering high-risk driver groups with advanced skills. Plans are also being explored to expand access to individual motorists in the future.
