Recent data reflects a concerning trend. In the past week alone, 50 crashes were recorded. Year-to-date statistics (1 January – 26 April 2026) indicate 921 crashes, 1,467 injuries, and 143 fatalities. These figures are a stark reminder that road safety remains a critical national concern.
Road crashes are not mere accidents; they are often preventable. Safer outcomes depend on responsible driver behaviour, including observing speed limits, avoiding reckless driving, planning journeys adequately, and remaining attentive at all times.
